Merge or split? Choose the right PDF tool.
Merging brings several PDFs into one document. Splitting takes pages from a document and produces a smaller document or individual files. The right choice depends on what you need to send.
When to merge
Imagine you have an application form, a supporting letter and two reference documents. If the recipient wants one file, merge the four PDFs. Check the order before downloading and confirm that every page belongs in the packet.
Use Merge PDF to combine the documents. If you need to remove or move individual pages afterward, open the result in Organize PDF.
When to split
If a recipient needs only two pages from a long report, extract those pages instead of sharing the entire document. In Split PDF, select the relevant range. Use actual file page numbers, including covers and blank pages, rather than relying only on printed page labels.
Check before sharing
Open the output and confirm the page count and order. If the source includes digital signatures, forms or attachments, do not assume those features survived copying. Keep the source documents and use the recipient’s preferred submission method.
