How to merge PDFs without uploading them
To merge PDFs without uploading them, open Merge PDF, select Choose files, put the files in order and select Merge PDFs →. The files are joined by code running in your browser, so they stay on your phone or computer. Below are two ways to check that before you use it for a private document.
Why most merge sites upload your files
Many free PDF websites send your files to their servers, combine them there and send the result back. Their privacy pages often say the files are deleted after an hour or a few hours. That may be fine for a flyer, but not for a bank statement, a medical form or a signed lease.
PDFReadyGo loads its tool code into the page instead. Your files are read from your device, combined in memory and saved back as a download. There is no account and no copy on our side. The page still loads code from this site, and its ads and analytics make small requests, but none of them carry your files.
How to merge PDFs on your device
- Open Merge PDF.
- Select Choose files, or drag the files onto the box. PDF, JPG, PNG and WebP files are accepted, up to 30 MB per file and 100 MB in total.
- Use the arrows next to each file name to put them in order. The top file becomes the first pages of the result.
- Select Merge PDFs →.
- Select Download result ↓.
In our test on November 2, 2026, an 8-page PDF and two photos became one 10-page PDF of 332.5 KB. Each photo was added as a page the size of the first PDF page.
Check 1: run it in airplane mode
- Open Merge PDF while you are online and wait a few seconds, so the page can save itself for offline use.
- Turn on airplane mode, or turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Choose your files and select Merge PDFs →.
If you get a download, the merge happened on your device, because there was no connection to send anything over. This works the same in Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
Check 2: open the Prove it’s private panel
Below the tool, open Prove it’s private. After you choose files, it counts every network request the page makes and shows:
- Requests since you chose a file, split into requests to pdfreadygo.com and to ad and analytics services.
- Requests that sent a file or binary data. In our test it read 0.
- Most data sent in one request. In our test it was 43 B, while the files added up to more than 1 MB.
Ads and analytics can keep making small requests while the page is open, so the total may grow. The figure to compare is the largest request against the size of your files. On a computer, you can also open the browser’s developer tools and watch the Network tab while you merge.
If something goes wrong
- A file is password-protected. Remove the password first with Unlock PDF, if you know it.
- A file is over 30 MB. Make it smaller with Compress PDF first.
- A phone photo won’t load. HEIC photos from an iPhone aren’t accepted here. Turn them into a PDF with Scan to PDF, which reads HEIC, then merge that PDF.
- The merged file is too big to email or upload. Run it through Compress PDF and pick a Target size.
Form fields, bookmarks and digital signatures may not carry over to the merged file, so fill in and sign forms after merging, and keep your originals.
