How privacy works

Enter the amount, rate and term to see a fixed monthly principal-and-interest payment, total interest and a month-by-month schedule. Mortgage mode adds down payment and optional escrow lines. Download the schedule as a PDF or CSV, or make an invoice for a related bill with the invoice generator.

Good to know before you begin

Results are estimates rounded to the nearest cent. They are not a loan offer, APR disclosure or financial advice. Extra principal payments are applied after that month’s interest. Tax, insurance and PMI are shown as simple monthly estimates and may not match escrow analysis from a lender.

How to estimate a loan payment

  1. Choose Loan or Mortgage and enter the amount, rate, term and start date.
  2. Add optional extra payments, or property tax, insurance and PMI for a mortgage.
  3. Review the payment, interest and schedule, then download a PDF or CSV.

Frequently asked questions

Are these figures a loan offer?

No. The calculator gives estimates from the numbers you enter. It is not a lender quote, credit decision or financial advice. Fees, compounding methods and rounding at a real lender can differ.

How is the monthly payment calculated?

It uses standard amortization: a fixed monthly principal-and-interest payment based on the principal, annual rate and number of months. At 0% interest the payment is principal divided by the number of months. Amounts are rounded to the nearest cent.

What do extra payments change?

An extra amount is applied to principal after that month’s interest. That can shorten the term and reduce total interest. The interest-saved figure compares the same loan with and without your extra payment.

Is my data uploaded?
