How to prepare SSCASN documents for a CPNS application
SSCASN asks for documents such as a recent pas foto, a scan of your KTP and your ijazah, and the size and format for each one is shown at its upload field. To fit a photo, use Resize photo in KB and type the number from the field into Maximum size in KB. For a PDF, use Compress PDF with a custom target. Both run in your browser, so your KTP isn’t uploaded to us.
What the requirements say
Requirements differ between agencies and between selection rounds. As an example, the BKN announcement for the 2024 CPNS selection, checked on November 5, 2026, asks applicants to upload a scan of the KTP, take a selfie, and upload a recent pas foto in formal clothes with a red background, the original ijazah, and a letter and statement signed with an e-meterai. It doesn’t give file sizes. The limits appear on the upload page itself, so read each field before you prepare the file.
The same announcement warns that mistakes in uploading documents can lead to failing the administrative selection. A readable file in the right format matters more than a very small one.
Step 1: The pas foto
Open Resize photo in KB and choose your photo. Type the limit shown in SSCASN into Maximum size in KB. If the field also gives a pixel size, type it in Width in pixels and Height in pixels. Select Resize photo →. The tool saves a JPG.
In our test on November 5, 2026, a 2.99 MB phone photo came out at 157.0 KB and 1920 × 2560 px with a 200 KB maximum. That number is only an example from our test, not an SSCASN rule.
Step 2: Scan the ijazah or transkrip
Open Scan to PDF and select Take a photo for each page, or Choose photos. The tool crops and straightens the pages. Select Create PDF →. A transkrip with several pages becomes one PDF.
Scan the original, as the announcement asks. Check that your name, the program, the number and the signature are sharp.
Step 3: Shrink a PDF to the limit
Open Compress PDF, choose the PDF and set Compression mode to Target size — for upload limits. Pick a preset, or select Custom and type the limit from SSCASN in KB, a little under it to leave room. Select Compress PDF →.
In our test, a 1-page scan of 1.90 MB came out at 286.6 KB with the 500 KB preset. The tool counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so a result under the target also fits if the site counts the other way.
Step 4: Combine pages if a field takes one file
If one field must hold a document you have as two or more separate PDFs, open Merge PDF, choose the files in order and select Merge PDFs →. Then compress the result as in step 3.
Before you upload
- Open every file and zoom in. Names and numbers must be readable.
- Check the size against the field. If it is over, run the tool again with a lower number.
- Prepare the documents early. The tools work offline after their first use, so you can get everything ready and connect only to upload.
- On an internet café computer, delete your copies when you finish.
Quick answers
Where do I find the size limit? On the SSCASN upload page, next to each document field. The BKN announcement we checked lists the documents but gives no file sizes, so we don’t print a number here. Use the one on your screen.
The photo is under the limit but SSCASN rejects it. Why? Check the format and the background as well as the size. The 2024 announcement asks for a recent photo in formal clothes with a red background. Resizing changes the file size and the pixels, not the background, so retake the photo if the background is wrong.
How careful do I need to be before I submit? Very. The announcement warns that upload mistakes can lead to failing the administrative selection, so open every file once more and compare it with the field before you press submit.
Can I do all of this on a phone? Yes. Every tool here runs in the phone’s browser, including Scan to PDF with the camera. Save the finished files where you can find them, then upload them from the same phone.
Your documents stay on your device
These tools read the file in your browser and save the result as a download. Nothing is sent to PDFReadyGo. The Prove it’s private panel under each tool shows the requests the page makes, and Requests that sent a file or binary data stayed at 0 in our test. PDFReadyGo has no connection with BKN or SSCASN. Always follow the latest announcement from the agency you apply to.
